Christmas Vacation

I got a new locomotive (with sound) and a DCC control system (Digitrax) for Christmas. I started putting my new HO train layout together; however, I need a couple of additional track pieces, and I'm not sure how the two Snap Switches fit together. There doesn't seem to be enough room. Oh well, I'll stop by the Big Little RR Shop (http://biglittle.com/) tomorrow and buy the additional track. Hopefully, they can give me some hints about how the Snap Switches should fit together. If you visit their site, be sure to check out the blog (http://biglittlerr.blogspot.com/). I'll start taking some pictures so you can see the progress of my layout.

Thanksgiving 2007

Well, I am getting grief from my family that I have a blog. I think they must be jealous, I don't know. My Dad has been visiting this week from NC and returns home on Saturday. Emily has been home a week, and has spent more time in NYC than she has in NJ. It is good having her home. We miss her when she is not here.

The last two days, she has tried to tell us that Thanksgiving is only the 12th best holiday. Unfortunately, a number of the higher ranked holidays are not true holidays, e.g. birthday, Valentine's Day, Halloween, etc. It was so sad that we had to burst her bubble, but such is life.

Alice fixed a great meal today: Turkey, Dressing, Cranberry relish, Sweet Potato Casserole with Marshmellow, Green Beans, Rice, Jello Salad, Rolls, and Pumpkin Pie. I am still full!

Last Weekend

Last weekend, I took Rob to a small Fencing Tournament in Montclair, NJ sponsored by Lilov Fencing Academy. There were 16 fencers and it was rated as a D1 Tournament. Rob finished 7th out of 16. Pretty good, especially for someone who hasn't really done anything fencing related since March. The interesting thing about this tournament was that it was held in the basement gym of a school in Montclair that was stuck in the middle of million dollar Tudor Mansions. The gym itself reminded Rob and me of the Baptist Conference Center where he took soccer lessons with Heinz. Coach Lilov was a smaller, Russian version of Heinz.

We will probably set something up beginning in December at Medeo Fencing. Either private lessons or group lessons or both. The High School season starts after Thanksgiving with a new coach. Hopefully, Rob will make the team. Last year, he was named Most Improved Male Fencer.

I can't believe that I am blogging

How about this! I actually created a blog. Now, I need to figure out what to do with it. Gotta to go to work. Check back later.
